Juon: The Curse Torrent Download; Juon: The Curse Torrent Youtube. Takashi Shimizu’s direct-to-video ghost story spawned the wildly popular JU-ON series, which is still going strong to this day. Like the sequels that followed, THE CURSE features vignettes, usually told out of order, about people who enter the haunted Saeki house where a jealous husband brutally murdered his wife and son.
When a grudge from the dead passes to the living - Who is safe?

i think i love these ghosts because they are always repeating the same things over and over. they had a bad experience in life and it bound them inexorably to orbiting that same moment for all of time. and when i woke up after a very panick evening in which i failed at doing socializing but felt so comforted & grateful to have been asked to be there but also even comfier slipping away knowing the hubbub was a coat of sound on this fraction of earth orb like a bubble or blanket and i was back in a dimly lighted bedroom with a cat standing briefly on my tummy and giving…
Haunting supernatural tale of foreboding and impending doom! Creepy imagery and storyline make this a Halloween favorite! However I felt the non linear format only served to confuse not enhance!
For creating the most widely recognized and horrifying character's Kayako (the murdered wife) and Toshio (the murdered son) I salute you!
Though western audiences my balk at some of its imagery and execution, 'Ju-on: The Grudge' contains worthy thrills for those willing to embrace them. A story about an evil spirit who harasses anyone within striking distance, the film's brightly lit use of practical effects may seem unusual. After awhile, however, the effects and story create a watchable and sometimes jolting piece of horror.
'Ju-on: The Grudge' finds its impact in its commitment to creating a haunting piece of work with limited resources. Jolts are workmanlike but surprising, simple but effective. Its story unfolds in airy, Japanese locations that juxtapose the horrors its characters soon find themselves amidst. For anyone used to European or American horror films, the straightforward matter-of-factness of…
Lightning in a bottle. There's a lot here that shouldn't work. Ju-on: The Grudge doesn't really have a story, outside of the gradually unfolding explanation as to what happened to Kayako in order to turn her house into a gateway to Hell. The budget is barebones, which forces a number of stylistic choices and casting decisions that should have just strangled the film from birth. And for a movie in which (by my count) 15 people die, there's very little gore or call for practical/special effects. Given its origins in direct-to-video cinematic standards, this very easily could have been forgettable space filler.
It all works together, though. The Saeki house and its tract home banality imparts a weird sense of…
Kayako can't control her curse. She's trapped in boundless suffering and is begging for people to help her boy, but no one can.
Toshio is scared and wants his cat and his Mom. Any Mom. 'Are you my Mom?'. Toshio, cold and tragic. A feral sprite. He won't KILL you, but if you make him nervous he may bite.
Kayako and Toshio are in the same dimension but different realities. Forever trying to find one another. Toshio absorbs cat so he'll never be alone. The cat is his security and he is a sign that something else is coming, and it's dragging Kayako with it.
'Damn, this grudge is killing me inside' - Demon kid's inner monologue (I assume).

Day 26: 'we shall watch any movie that features an actor/actress from one of the greatest movies of all time (Spider Baby). Yes, you can watch Spider Baby if you want to.'I should not want to pinch the cheeks of a villain in a movie.
Don't get me wrong, I liked that scene where a bunch of cats were on a bed, but overall... real talk? This movie bored me. And I read subtitles, I'm not some peasant, I just found it boring. Some of the cinematography in this film is a serious problem. It feels like…
Cryptic, puzzling & refusing to unfurl its mystery, Ju-On: The Grudge is an eerie yet utterly baffling horror that presents itself as an enigma, is told in non-chronological order, and keeps its audience clueless from beginning to end. Nothing more than a collection of six interrelated episodes, it isn't scary but only shocking in bits n pieces.
The story of Ju-On: The Grudge revolves around a curse that was born in a house in Tokyo when a husband killed his entire family in a jealous rage after he suspected his wife of having an affair. The plot takes place over a number of years and follows people who, after visiting the cursed location, are marked & pursued by a vengeful spirit.

(TL;DR: the last time a movie scared me this much was when I saw Alien for the first time.)

I’m very aware of The Curse films before this one but figured I’d start with at least the best in the whole series and work my way down. Once again I was babysitting tonight so made sure the kiddos were passed out before I started this. Like Ringu I did not want them to wake up in the middle of the night with a scene where Kayako was making her death croaks while twisting down the stairs haha.
This is still very effective. Albeit very formulaic in the j-horror scene but still so creepy in its own right. It’s quite lost most of the magic through shitty follow-ups or unnecessary sequels that make the mythology like a parody. But…
It's been a while since I last revisited this, but it's still a delightfully creepy film. The increased production values from The Curse are evident right away, but the focus on practical effects have always been a plus for this in my eyes. Of course there are a few special effects that haven't aged especially well, but they're hardly bad enough to detract from the film as a whole. So many memorable scares, sprinkled across the background, or seizing your attention after a lengthy, atmospheric climb. I think the final, empty shots are a great deal more effective at relaying the themes that the more crowded sequences from The Curse pointed at as well.
Well OK THEN. Consider me creeped the hell out!
Seriously, this is one of the most effective horror films I've ever seen. What it lacks in plot and character development it makes up for in striking imagery and atmosphere. If the story was as strong as the scare factor - this would have been an insane horror masterpiece.
It confuses me to see the reviews of this film on Letterboxd are all pretty scathing. Ju-on stands as the most terrifying film I have ever seen, even after second viewing. The simplistic style of the film assists its believability, and whilst the acting flails at times, the characters all seem real.
However, the thing most horrifying about Ju-on is the sound. The noises and score for the film aid in making the viewer uncomfortable, causing an aural attack, dizzying and confronting the audience in the most horrendous way.
I have watched countless horror films over the years but very few are as chilling as this. Non-reliant on gore or violence, the film succeeds at scaring the fucking fuck out of its unsuspecting viewer.
